Cracker-Topped Jalapeño Mac-and-Cheese
This Cracker-Topped Jalapeno Mac-and-Cheese recipe is a blend of crunchy Town House® Original Crackers, creamy cheese, and spicy jalapenos. This warm and delectable meal is a must-try for easy meals anytime.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, divided
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (16-oz.) box elbow noodles, cooked and drained
- 1-2 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped, plus more for garnish
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon finely ground black pepper
- 1 cup crushed Town House® Original Crackers
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in large pot over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook 1 to 2 minutes, until no lumps remain. Whisk in milk and heavy cream, stirring vigorously, until smooth.
3. Reduce heat to low and stir in cheddar and mozzarella until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in macaroni, jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
4. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish in an even layer.
5. Melt remaining butter in medium bowl. Add Town House® Original Crackers and parsley, and mix until combined. Sprinkle mixture evenly over macaroni.
6. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake until golden-brown and edges are bubbling, an additional 8-10 minutes. Let cool at room temperature for at least 10 minutes. Garnish with additional parsley and serve.
