Ingredients

  • Pastry for 2-crust pie
  • 32 Keebler® Zesta® Original crackers
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

1. Roll out half of pastry. Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Carefully break crackers into quarters. Place in crust.

2. In small saucepan stir together sugar, water, lemon juice, cream of tartar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Pour over crackers in crust.

3. Roll out remaining pastry. Cut slits in pastry. Place on filling. Crimp edges. Bake at 425° F about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.

NOTE: Pie requires no fruit.
